The Circle Keeper Project is a series of programs that support East Los Angeles community and cultural workers by providing resources to expand their facilitation practice in arts & culture, wellbeing & health services, and other initiatives focused on violence prevention and intervention, reducing harm and incarceration among our relatives.

Tuesday, April 28, guest facilitator: Yaotl Mazahua

Yaotl Mazahua is Raramuri/Mazahua and holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology and an MSW and LCSW from CSUN. Yaotl has worked with probation youth, homeless parolees, and children and families. Yaotl considers himself an Artivist inspired by the Zapatista struggle in Chiapas. He was empowered by wellness through Indigenous culture, music, and art. From punk rock to hip-hop, to his Indigenous roots as a basis for resilience.
